Independent Reading Project:
Students will be required to read one book per 9 week grading period from specific genres. Although students will have the freedom to select books within the assigned genre, they must get approval of their choices from their language arts teachers. Students will be required to complete AR tests based on their independent reading books and may also be assigned additional projects based on their readings.
Genres:
First Quarter: Biography/Autobiography or Fiction
Second Quarter: Historical Fiction or Non-fiction (not a biography)
Third Quarter: Mystery
Fourth Quarter: Poetry
