It does not seem to make much sense, but that is exactly what the United States government is doing by continuing to produce the penny. The penny may be a small coin, but it is causing a big debate. People disagree about whether continuing to mint the penny makes sense. Although the penny is a part of the United States’ history, it should no longer be a part of its future. The United States should stop producing the penny.
